Clowne Rock & Blues - Gig Guide:

The Clowne Blues Club is now Clowne Rock & Blues to more reflect the blues based Classic Rock Bands on offer & also because we aren't a club as such, as you don't have to be a member.

Live music at the Clowne Community Centre between Chesterfield & Worksop N.E. Derbyshire every Sunday night from 9:00pm 'till 11:00pm. Doors open from 8:00pm. Just 2 miles from M1 Junction 30. Sensibly priced drinks, usually with a choice of at least 3 cask ales.

July 2017: Band:
2nd July Jenna Hooson Band£4 on the door
The unstoppable Jenna Hooson is taking the British blues scene by storm. Her multi-faceted vocals & energetic presence are truly unforgettable. Nominated for Best Female Vocalist at the 2012 British Blues Awards, Jenna has toured across the UK, Europe & the US, thrilling audiences everywhere with her spirited blend of blues, soul & rock. Since 2012 Jenna has been soloing with various artists alongside Paddy Maguire. Together they have been collaborating on new material & Jenna is busy working on fresh numbers to perform with her new line up.
9th July The Della Grants£5 on the door
The Della Grants are the latest British band to merge blues, rock, & R&B to great effect. The four piece have quickly made a name for themselves among industry professionals & fellow musicians alike for their song writing ability & on stage performances. Now in their third year The DG's are busy touring debut album Time For Change and it’s follow-up EP First Fix. So far the tour has seen them travelling the length & breadth of the UK performing a mixture of headline shows & festival slots. The band have already played alongside some of the industry's most notable acts including: Canned Heat, Wilko Johnson, Laurence Jones, Ryan McGarvey, Nine Below Zero, Chris Jagger & Dr Feelgood. The DG's are making a great impression on music fans country wide with their mix of blues influenced rock songs & ballads. None more so than with Dr Feelgood guitarist Steve Walwyn who has become both a fan & friend of the band, joining them on stage to perform on several occasions.
16th July Zoe Green Band£5 on the door
The times they are a changin' at ZGB but In the meantime, the Blues gigs must go on! ZGB have a host of new musicians & will feature 3 of Birmingham's finest. Ali Clinton (guitar) an incredible player, his guitar skills are off the scale & he commands a natural talent & has been on the road with the likes of Uli Jon Roth (Scorpions) & established him as a solo artist in his own right. Dave Clarke (bass) has played with just about everybody including Alvin Stardust & Ruby Turner & is a prolific & truly gifted bass player. Toby Wilson (drums) son of Bob Wilson (Steve Gibbons Band) is yet another incredible player & brings years of experience playing with the best. (most recently Laurence Jones & Joanne Shaw Taylor) His skill, tone & precision will blow you away.
23rd July Ricochet£4 on the door
Ricochet are a Sheffield rock covers band who play all your favourite rock songs. You'll recognise some of them from previous bands at Clowne.
30th July The Blues Revue£4 on the door
What do you get if you mix around one eighth of the Bakerlight Blues Band, three-fifths of Mag 7 & half of Maison Rouge? Why, 'The Blues Revue' of course! Founded in July 2015 they want to share their brand of blues, rock, funk & soul with you. Their style is classy blues-related music spanning American & British influences played by experienced musicians with a genuine love of the genre. They say 'If we can't get you out of your seats, then no-one will'
