Clowne Rock & Blues Club - Gig Guide:

The Clowne Blues Club is now Clowne Rock & Blues to more reflect the blues based classic rock bands on offer & also because we aren't a club as such, as you don't have to be a member.

Live music at the Clowne Community Centre between Chesterfield & Worksop N.E. Derbyshire every Sunday night from 8.30pm 'till 11:00pm. Doors open from 7:45pm. Just 2 miles from M1 Junction 30.

Sensibly priced drinks, usually with a choice of 3 cask ales.

2nd June	Healers(£3 on the door)
	Wolverhampton based band the Healers are influenced by the likes of Ronnie Earl, Fab T Birds, Freddie King, Tom Waits, SRV, & T Bone Walker, their set is hopefully a mix of all. Tim has worked with Roy Wood, Eric Bell & the legendary Alabama boogie outfit, the George Hatcher band. Curly McVicar was a founder member of UK top soul band the Soul Survivors & has worked with everyone from the Drifters to Chris Farlowe and Jackie Graham. This time out its more emphasis on guitar & a more diverse selection of covers and originals.
9th June	Idle Hands(£4 on the door)
	Big favourites at Clowne, the Idle Hands have been acclaimed by the UK National music press as being "One of the finest yet still surprisingly unsigned original Blues Rock bands on the scene today". Powerful, gritty & soulful vocals are interlaced with proficient, intensely exhilarating guitar work, all solidly backed by a vacuum tight rhythm section. If you don't know this band yet, then you don't know what you've been missing.
16th June	The Mentulls(£4 on the door)
	"The future of Blues Rock is in good hands" Unapologetically rooted in the 60's but infused with a boundless youthful energy, another of the young up & coming bands getting rave reviews - & still at school! Formed in 2006 The Mentulls are a young blues rock band full of energy. Inspired & influenced by bands & artists such as Jethro Tull, Wishbone Ash, Joe Bonamassa, Gary Moore & Jimi Hendrix. Andrew Pipe, singer/guitarist has been nominated for a "British Blues Award" in 2012 & 2013.
23rd June	Buzzard(£3 on the door)
	Regulars at Clowne, Buzzard are a rock & blues band based from the Notttingham/Derby area who play a mixture of rock & blues classics & originals. They have been playing the local circuit as Buzzard since 2006 & boast a wealth of experience, all members having played professionally during the course of their musical careers.
30th June	The Nicol Band(£3 on the door)
	Les Nicol on guitar has spent many years playing guitar with bands such as Methusela, Coast Road Drive, Distant Jim, ABC & many, many more. He has played with some great names such as Mick Ronson & Tim Renwick as well as touring the world for five years with Leo Sayer. His fluid & astounding guitar playing is supported by the sublime fretwork of Gary O'Neal on bass guitar & the awseome Jon Dawson on drums. Together they are The Nicol Blues Band!
