Clowne Rock & Blues Club - Gig Guide:

The Clowne Blues Club is now Clowne Rock & Blues to more reflect the blues based classic rock bands on offer & also because we aren't a club as such, as you don't have to be a member.

Live music at the Clowne Community Centre between Chesterfield & Worksop N.E. Derbyshire every Sunday night from 8:30pm 'till 11:00pm. Doors open from 7:45pm. Just 2 miles from M1 Junction 30.

Sensibly priced drinks, usually with a choice of 3 cask ales.

Doors open from 7:45pm - Bands start at 8:30pm

3rd August Rhythm Zoo(£4 on the door)
Described as one of the up & coming bands on the British Blues scene, Rhythm Zoo will hit you on every level, driving rhythm, blistering guitar & the captivating vocals of Andi Jones. Never bound by any one style, Rhythm Zoo stretch out & do great traditional Chicago & Delta blues with a great blend of original & standards.
10th August Egypt(£5 on the door)
It's yet another welcome return for these huge favourites at Clowne. Egypt are a three piece Heavy Rock & Blues outfit that have been on the circuit since 1987. All three are former members of legendary progressive blues outfit The Groundhogs & featured on several albums. They have also been touring throughout the UK & Europe over many years.
17th August Steve Fulsham Band(£4 on the door)
The Steve Fulsham Band are influenced mainly by some of the classic rock bands from the seventies. Bands such as Free, Bad Company, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Status Quo, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Queen, Thin Lizzy, ZZ Top, The Who & most importantly, Led Zeppelin. Obviously, the guitarists in these bands are all huge heroes & Steve says its very hard to pick his favourite. One week it might be Jimmy Page, the next week it could be Kossof or maybe Stevie Ray Vaughan.
24th August Swear Box(£4 on the door)
Swear Box are a brand new local supergroup of excellent musicians who all play with other well known artists. On lead vocals & mischief is Andy Barber of Stumble & on lead guitar & vocals, from The Gav Coulson Group - the one & only Gav Coulson! Keyboards & vocals are supplied by the bands secret weapon - Eaglesque's Wayne Miles, on bass & vocals is the renowned Jamie Mallender, currently also playing bass for Paddy Maguire & John Verity of Argent fame. Bringing up the rear on drums is the much sought after Simon Freeston of The Kahunas & Mag7. Expect a mix of popular classic rock, bluesy rock & rocky blues, songs by the likes of Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Santana, Cream, Golden Earring, ZZ Top, Queen, Foreigner, Deep Purple & many more.
31st August Mahogany Newt(£4 on the door)
Mahogany Newt is a power rock trio performing high energy classic rock covers from some of the greatest bands in the world. The band formed in early '90s & has since become well established in South Yorkshire & North Derbyshire as one of the top rock cover bands in the region. The set includes a wide variety of songs including tracks by Led Zeppelin, Whitesnake, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Journey, Toto & many more. The live performance is enhanced by the subtle use of backing tracks providing keyboard lines to faithfully recreate some of the best songs ever written. (These are not 'off the shelf' backing tracks but purpose made tracks recorded by Andy for the band)
