Clowne Rock & Blues Club - Gig Guide:

The Clowne Blues Club is now Clowne Rock & Blues to more reflect the blues based classic rock bands on offer & also because we aren't a club as such, as you don't have to be a member.

Live music at the Clowne Community Centre near Chesterfield, Derbyshire every Sunday night from 8.30pm 'till 11:00pm. Doors open from 7:45pm. Just 2 miles from the M1 Junction 30.

6th May Idle Hands(£4 on the door)
Huge local favourites at Clowne. The Idle Hands have been acclaimed by the UK National music press as being "One of the finest yet still surprisingly unsigned original Blues Rock bands on the scene today". Powerful, gritty & soulful vocals are interlaced with proficient, intensely exhilarating guitar work, all solidly backed by a vacuum tight rhythm section. If you don't know this band yet, then you don't know what you've been missing.
13th May Cold Flame(£3 on the door)
Cold Flame formed in 1984 & are based in Glossop. They are one of the most exciting, energetic, dedicated & original English rocking blues bands performing live music today. They play classic rock covers performed with the same enthusiasm and dedication that goes into their original music. The band's covers repertoire is immense covering the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Free, Cream, Led Zeppelin, Whitesnake, Gary Moore, Fleetwood Mac through to folk rock acts like Fairport Convention & John Martyn.
20th May Tea(£4 on the door)
Tea are a four piece band from Madrid & are one of Spain's top blues/rock outfits featuring twin lead guitars & playing over 200 gigs a year. Their background is from the Free/Humble Pie era & the late Greg Ridley (ex Humble Pie & Spooky Tooth) featured on Tea's last album & played with the band. Tea have toured Spain with the likes of Jethro Tull, Status Quo, Dr Feelgood, Deep Purple & Pat Travers. They have built up a substantial following in the UK over the past two years & have just finished several support dates with Rainbow.
27th May Ameila Carter Band(£3 on the door)
The Amelia Carter Band is an exciting new band to arrive on the Sheffield music scene. Amelia has been enthralling audiences with her strong passionate vocals whilst singing & playing with various Sheffield bands for a number of years. Now she has decided that it's time to lead her own band. With an eclectic but stylish mix of musical styles & influences, for the first time Amelia is able to fully explore the range of her voice, from powerful rock, through soft jazz to soulful blues.
