|7th December||Northsyde£5 on the door|
|Northsyde is fronted by vocalist Lorna Fothergill, who is also the main lyricist & songwriter. With a dynamic & powerful vocal style, she has been described as "Robert Plant meets Aretha, with a hint of Janis". Playing guitar for the band is her husband, Jules Fothergill. Expect a heady mix of soulful Blues, shaking Funk, & Zep-style riffing, it has been best described as what you'd get from "Stanley Clarke strapped to the front of an Intercity 125 with Janis Joplin driving." - while not fitting into an easily defined pigeon-hole, sampling their music live is usually the best introduction.|
|14th December||Rodger£4 on the door|
|Rodger are one of Sheffield's finest rock covers bands & are very popular at Clowne. They cover songs from the likes of Argent, Bad Company, Bowie, Blue Oyster Cult, Cream, Deep Purple, Dire Straits, the Doors, the Eagles. & that's only up to 'E'!!! There's many classic rock favourites in their setlist. Check them out.|
|Friday 19th December||The Idle Hands£5 on the door|
|This gig is now a Friday night Christmas Party Special. Local Favourites The Idle Hands have been acclaimed by the UK National music press as being "One of the finest yet still surprisingly unsigned original Blues Rock bands on the scene today". Powerful, gritty & soulful vocals are interlaced with proficient, intensely exhilarating guitar work, all solidly backed by a vacuum tight rhythm section. If you don't know this band yet, then you don't know what you've been missing.|
|28th December||Ben Miles£4 on the door|
|This is the first visit to Clowne for Chesterfield blues artist Ben Miles. He's getting some great reviews lately so don't miss this one folks. Armed with only a guitar, a stomper & his incredible voice, Ben Miles is one of the most astounding blues acts you will ever see. An earthy grassroots blues singer, Ben combines the energy & exhuberance of the White Stripes with the back-to-basics blues sounds of John Lee Hooker & Seasick Steve. (Video)|
